Firstgas launched its Building Belonging programme in the belief that an inclusive organisation culture will lead to increased diversity that is genuine and sustainable, rather than being quota-driven. 
The company has seen improvements in the ratio of men to female employees, the gender pay gap has narrowed and staff are regularly rating the company highly for fairness and inclusion, as well as wellbeing.
