Safety improvement programme - Tackling our TRIFR
Since January 2016, we have rolled out a comprehensive safety improvement programme to bring our TRIFR back below 8, and to keep it down.
Our goals have been to improve behavioural safety of our workforce, and increase focus on our critical risks – the things that can seriously hurt or harm us.
Our TRIFR is now below 8 – in April 2017 it was down to 4.7. This shows these initiatives are becoming embedded, and are working. We’ve also increased our near-miss reporting rate - an indicator our reporting environment is more open, and our service providers have fed back that we’re now having more evidence and improvement based discussions when we do have serious incidents.
