Kapuni 3D - A game changer
The Kapuni 3D seismic survey has been a game changer for Shell Todd Oil Services (STOS) and the South Taranaki community it serves. Technical, commercial, human and process innovation were all combined in the largest and most-advanced project of its type ever undertaken in New Zealand.
The project engaged local community resources and input at many levels. From the beginning, the community was engaged and plans were adjusted based on feedback, while many locals were employed in the activity.
Kapuni 3D produced crucial, rich seismic information needed to make decisions about the future of New Zealand’s oldest natural gas field.
