solarZero – Power system stability services from distributed batteries

2023
solarZero achieved a world first in Q3 2022. It provided power system stability services via distributed frequency response - reserves - using 3,200 household battery systems.

solarZero achieved a world first in late 2022 by using distributed frequency response from 3200 household battery systems to provide power system stability services.
The initiative, and the technology it developed with its partners for the service, are an important step in providing the improved stability services necessary to cater for a growing share of intermittent renewables on the power system.
By mid 2024 solarZero expects 15,000+ of its systems to be enrolled to offer reserves, providing up to 80 megawatts of reserves capacity.
