EnergyMate – a free energy coaching service, helping whānau get the most out of their electricity.
The 2019 Electricity Price Review reported that about 100,000 households were experiencing energy hardship. The sector wants all households to be warm, healthy and with affordable energy costs. That’s why the Electricity Retailers’ Association launched EnergyMate, an energy coaching programme which addresses the issue of energy hardship through collaboration and partnership. To date almost 1500 whānau in 13 locations have been supported through the EnergyMate pilot and training has been provided for 76 community-based energy coaches.
