Gisborne-based Eastland Group specialises in regional infrastructure. We have a commercial mind and a community heart, and this informs everything we do. Our involvement within the energy sector encompasses generation, transmission, distribution and retail. Eastland Network is the electricity lines company for Gisborne, Wairoa and the East Coast. We also own the region’s high voltage transmission network. Eastland Generation operates geothermal and hydro power plants. In 2018 our new 25MW geothermal power plant, Te Ahi O Maui, became the first significant renewable addition to the national grid in four years. Eastland Group is also a shareholder in Flick Electric Co. Every year, we deliver strong financial returns to our sole shareholder, Eastland Community Trust, for the future benefit of the people of Tairāwhiti Gisborne.
